These are some photos of Milo, an Australian Shepard, shot by the still photographer, Miles Rasmussen, on Gus's movie set, "Sea of Trees", that were sent to me by his dear friend Paige Powell. Here is a fun description of Milo on set by Miles:

"I work as Gus' assistant on the movie - I travel with Gus to the set, make sure everything goes smoothly, bring him questions from all the department heads including creating books of background extras for him to choose from, and one of my responsibilities is to take Milo wherever Gus is.  He spends most of his days running through the fields near the set, in the trailer hanging out, or on set walking around and being loved by everyone who meets him.

On Gus' trailer, he is the watch dog.  Even if he knows you, if you're not one of the people he spends most of his time with, you WILL be barked at.  He's ready to protect, but he won't hurt anyone... just will not let anyone get close to the trailer unless he's told it's OK.

He's 11 now, but has the energy of a wide-eyed puppy excited by everything, and always looking up at me as if asking me what we're going to do next.  He's almost never alone, and no matter what I or Gus do, he's right there, standing by not missing a beat. He will often stand next to me or Gus if we're in conversations, kind of participating.  I've joked before that he doesn't know he's not a human.

The shooting of this movie has been a great adventure for him - every few days we change locations to another state forest or park, in the mountains or in the middle of the forest, where he can explore and smell all the new smells.  "
