It's been a week and I am grateful. Grateful to have found my place in this big city and surrounding myself with animal heroes. I first want to express my profound gratitude to the team that tirelessly spreads love and helps so many animals in NYC - Social Tees. They are a a not-for-profit, strictly no-kill 501c3 organization in the East Village of NYC that takes abandoned animals from kill shelters and provides them with safe haven and veterinary care before placing them in proper forever homes. Robert Shapiro opened the shelter in 1991 after having started a t-shirt company that was built to raise awareness about social issues. I will be forever indebted to them for taking on Jazzy (pictured here) still up for adoption, that my daughter found on the streets of Hartford.
I also wanted to thank the dog community in NY. I have never felt such love and concern in helping "SUGAR" a gorgeous pit that was lost last week when its dog walker went on a drug bender, a habit the owner Morgan Bogle, knew nothing about. She was away and the dog was lost. I have marveled at the outpouring of love; we all hope that Sugar makes it back to Morgan soon. If you see anyone with a dog like this please email: findsugarnyc@gmail.com or call 917-250-4667. Our hearts are with you.
