Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Pickle BeHolding has her hold on the art world and here she tells us how

What's your favorite neighborhood?

Is the park a neighborhood? If so, then any park where I can play fetch is my favorite neighborhood. But I also like the Lower East Side and Chelsea, I have a lot of friends there at the galleries mom takes me to! I also just got to go to the Jewish Museum on the Upper East Side where my grandparents live. They gave me a super cool Kosher toy that I love!

Do you have a gallery in particular where the staff smells good?

Well it depends on the exhibition! One time there was dog food in a gallery, and that smelled the best. Mom had to drag me out. But I have friends all over! I really like everyone at Marianne Boesky, Jack Shainman, Andrea Rosen, Sasha Wolf, and Lehmann Maupin.

Who has the best treats?

I don't usually get treats when we go out, just lots of love and attention.

What does your Mom give you as treats along the way?

She gives me love and encouragement! If there are any treats I get too distracted by them to pose.

Do you "CATNAP"?

When we are out going to the galleries I don't nap, it's too exciting! But when I go home I love to sleep in my dog bed with a blanket and all of the bones so my fur-sister Roo doesn't get them.

HOW DID YOU GET YOUR NAME?

My mom thinks that food names for bulldogs are funny; her last dog, an English Bulldog, was named Bagel. I'm also a tiny French, who is always getting into something, so Pickle just fit my personality.

What art is your Mom liking these days?

Right now my mom is building an all female emerging art collection for an awesome female owned and run business. So she's looking at artists like N. Dash, Jessica Mein, Laura Miller, Jo Nigoghossian, Brie Ruais, Jessica Sanders, Ruby Sky Stiler, Despina Stokou, Letha Wilson, and August Love Vollbrecht.

Tell us a bit about your MOM???

My mom is great! She gives me lots of love and delicious food. But I think you are asking more about her, and not about me. After moving from TV Production, to working at a contemporary LES Gallery, now she works as a private art advisor as well as doing my Instagram! That's actually how it got started; she focuses on the individual needs of her clients, which demands a lot of research and staying current in the NY Art Scene, so we started going to all the galleries together. I love doing research with my mom; it's much better than being left home alone.

Katie N. Howard is an art advisor living in Brooklyn with her fiancee, artist Nat Ward, and their two dogs.  Pickle's website is here.
