People now have their dog radar on, so I am sent many wonderful things, one of which were these insane pillows by Hyla Frank. Hyla went to Maryland Institute of Art and had always loved to doodle. All started when a friend of Hyla's was moving out of town and she decided to create a memento that would last forever. Using one of her drawings of the friend’s two dogs, Leon and Stanley, she created a portrait pillow, which has since become her friend’s most prized possession. That pillow was the inspiration behind a new line which has grown to include cats and even someone’s pet pig, and is available through her website: hylaf.com .
Each pillow is hand embroidered. Hyla also donates a portion of the proceeds to the dog rescue, Wags and Walks , where her twin brother volunteers and where she found her own furry friend.
