I originally met Faye McLeod poolside at a friend’s house a few summers ago, fabulous but dog-less.  It wasn’t until recently that I discovered she had a dog, but not any dog, surely the best accessorized dog on the planet.  And it’s no small wonder that Stella, the mini Havapoo, is as such for her Mom is the visual image director of Louis Vuitton and travels the globe for her job.  During Faye’s inspired travels, she hits up the chicest dog spots around the world, so Mrs. Sizzle had to get the scoop on where the best products are found.  I spent a rainy afternoon with Faye and photographer Landon Nordeman with Stella chasing avocados and other fuzzy wonders.

Why a poodle?

Hypo allergenic, intelligent and black...I wear a lot of black....Stella's a Havapoo. She can also travel in the cabin to Europe.

Did you think of yourself as a dog person before?

My brother had a King Charles Cavalier growing up, so yes I'm a dog person.

What does the office think of Stella?

They love Stella, she's part of the team, part of the family.

Let's talk about the dog that has perfect toys and dog things...how do you source all of them?

I buy Stella treats, as I travel a lot and see objects she'll love. Tokyo Hands is my store of choice. Their dog section is vast and funny, so I buy things that I know she'll adore. She has a large toy box with a curated edit of top global toys.

What are your favorite leads?

Lots of leads....

Lots of leads....

Louis Vuitton of course, but I also love Goyard, Shinola and Found My Animal.

What are the best places to shop for dogs in New York, Paris, and Japan?

Japan -Tokyo Hands, and dog stores in Shinjku and Shibuya.

Paris- Goyard, Louis Vuitton and Dior.

New York - The Barking Zoo, Townhouse, Petco (they sell these bright velvet balls she loves, also the avocado) and Shinola.

What new products have you seen that you LOVED?

Crystals for my dog’s collar from Venusrox London as Stella's energy is precious. I also covet the bright yellow collar and lead at Goyard not to mention the traveling dog bowls.

Dog bed?

Fatboy with her name on it. Stella sleeps on a Chateau Marmont blanket or a Louis Vuitton one, when she travels she sleeps in her Louis Vuitton dog bag.

Stella gets her groove on.

Stella gets her groove on.

And let’s tell the funny story about buying the glasses and Stella eating them!

Uncle Julien's kimono

Uncle Julien's kimono

I bought Stella doggles from Japan (goggles for dogs). I left her sunbathing with them on. I turned my back for 1 minute and she had eaten them as she disliked them so much!! She really has a personality! She dislikes clothing too. Her uncle Julien bought her a kimono; however, she doesn't enjoy wearing clothes, she's a nudist.

Any routine you want to share – grooming, etc. or other antidotes?

Surf hair only from Townhouse Groomers .

Stella once got groomed New York style. She came out smelling of chemicals and like a giant Pom Pom, we walked home in shame. She was embarrassed as was I! Now we ask for surf beach style...and we don't over groom.

How long at LV?

Been at it now for 6 years.

And that's all she had to share!  Thanks Faye - that Stella is one lucky gal.
