I was on the Huffington Post instagram account last Spring when I came across this amazing photo from @toandfrom. I had to get Diana Nguyen's story and don't you know she has a rescue dog!
"For Christmas 2009, I thought my then-boyfriend (now husband) and I were going to swap "small" gifts, so I bought him an ice cream maker. I felt horrible when I opened the gift he gave me - a DSLR. Oops. However, it probably has been one of my all-time favorite gifts as I've been shooting ever since. (The ice cream maker, on the other hand, was used once.) My other favorite gift came the following Christmas when we decided to bring a pup into our family. We ended up with an energetic 2-year-old Saint Bernard, who was being fostered in Chicago after being rescued from a kill shelter in southern Illinois. I didn't realize adopting Giada meant I had gained the best photography subject ever, but that's absolutely what happened. I would share more pictures of her on Instagram, but I wonder how much of her people really want to see!"
